Vision and Aims

Our School Vision

"We strive for ambitious, articulate pupils who can problem solve, communicate confidently, show resilience and act with kindness"

Our Aims

Growing Minds

We cultivate a love of learning where every child develops the knowledge, skills, and understanding they need to succeed. Through a rich, ambitious curriculum and high-quality teaching, we encourage children to think critically, ask questions, and embrace challenges. We believe that every mind has the potential to grow, and we provide the support and opportunities for all our pupils to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.

Igniting Dreams

We inspire our children to dream big and believe in themselves. By celebrating each child's unique talents and interests, we create an environment where aspirations are encouraged and achievements are recognised. We expose our pupils to a wide range of experiences and possibilities, helping them discover their passions and develop the confidence to pursue their goals, no matter how ambitious.

Empowering Futures

We equip our children with the resilience, independence, and values they need to become responsible, active citizens. Through fostering strong character, promoting respect and equality, and building partnerships with families and our community, we prepare our pupils not just for the next stage of their education, but for life. We empower them to make positive contributions to the world around them and to shape their own successful futures.

Our approach to positive behaviour for learning and for life

At Leopold Primary School, we aim to create a calm, safe and happy environment where exemplary behaviour enables all pupils and adults to feel secure, respected and ready to learn. Everyone in our school community is expected to maintain high standards of conduct, to take responsibility for their behaviour and to encourage others to do the same.

We recognise that every child is unique and at a different stage of social, emotional and behavioural development. Only through a consistent, calm and fair approach to supporting behaviour will we be able to create an environment in which children can learn, develop positive relationships and grow into responsible, resilient individuals.

We believe that behaviour is a form of communication. Children do well when they can, and when they struggle, it is our responsibility as adults to teach, guide and support them back to success. Our approach is rooted in the principle that when adults change, everything changes.

We believe:

  • Behaviour is learned and can be taught
  • Pupils are expected to take responsibility for their behaviour, supported by clear expectations and consistent adults
  • Adults set the emotional climate of the school
  • Certainty beats severity
  • Relationships are the foundation of good behaviour
  • Every child deserves dignity, safety and belonging

At Leopold Primary School:

  • Children are never defined by their behaviour
  • Mistakes are expected and planned for
  • Repair matters more than punishment
  • Adults lead with calm, consistency and compassion
